Capsule Endoscopy with 3D Imaging in a Single Lens Design by using Prisms and Polarizers
Jiun-Ching FU

The paper proposes a capsule endoscopy (CE) with stereoscopic imaging that is based on a single lens design. Employ the optical software, Zemax, to simulate and analyze the proposed CE.

Improved Color Phase Shifting Structured Light Profilometry by Leakage Correction
Surag Athippillil Suresh;Chen Yen Lin;J Andrew Yeh;Yuan Luo

Color phase-shifting profilometry is gaining a peak of grip in the 3D surface reconstruction applications. This research focuses on providing an improved technique by color leakage correction on fringe based structure light integrated with three-step phase-shifting profilometry to assess displacement in phase triggered by the surface topography for 3D reconstruction.

Analysis of Periscope Zoom Lens Depth for Mobile Phone
Yi-Hong Liu;Wen-Shing Sun

In this paper, we discuss the factors that affect the depth of periscope-type zoom lens. By adjusting the first-order conditions and image sensor spec designs to reduce the prism thickness, the depth can reach 5.377 mm for a Periscope-type 3× zoom 8-Megapixel mobile phone lens.

Hidden Fingerprint Device on Opaque Display Panel
Jhe-Syuan Lin

Fingerprint on opaque display panel design based on waveguide was demonstrated. Via the comprehensive design of coupler and cover glass waveguide thickness, not only was FOD on opaque display panel achieved, but also control the magnification of signal by coupler to achieved high screen ratio.

Generation of cylindrical vector beam from mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser based on offset coupling
Cheng-Yu Yang;Yi-Ze Lee;Bo-Han Peng;Kuei-Huei Lin;Shwu-Yun Tsay;Yao-Hui Chen;Ja-Hon Lin

We experimentally demonstrate a cylindrical vector beam (CVB) from all-normal-dispersion passively mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber laser (PMF-YDFL) based on an offset coupling betwen single-mode fiber (SMF) and few-mode fiber (FMF). Through appropriate adjusting polarization controller, the radially and azimuthally polarized beams can be switched.

Near-infrared photodetector based on Schottky barrier of copper/silicon (Cu/p-Si)
Hsin Han Lai;Ching-Fuh Lin

Schottky photodetector based on silicon and copper (Cu/p-Si) characterized is developed for low cost and simple process. The photovoltaic performance of photodetector is improved by annealing. Annealing-Cu/p-Si/Pt shows the photocurrent changed largely and immediately with an optimum photocurrent of 0.48 μA and response of 0.16 mA/W.

Low-Speed Fiber Optic Gyroscope and its Output Characteristics
Dai-En Li;Sin Rong Yang;Ming Chang Shih

We demonstrate the fabrication of an interferometry fiber gyroscope for low-speed dynamic rotation monitoring and its performances. It has showed that this fiber gyroscope system is able to measure low angular speed as low as 0.01047rad/s which can be applied in civil engineering structure safety monitoring.
