Development of microLED light source for wearable physiological information measurement system
Ray-Hua Horng

The talk is to introduce the developing self-generating wearable devices for home care, adding innovative features such as physical health, physiological information, and energy planning. First, how to successfully develop a small-size red light and infrared light flip-chip LED, and bonded it to a flexible substrate will be described.

Determining Object Distance by Blurred Edge of Image for Imaging Luminance Measuring Devices
Jing-Hsuan Peng;Yu-Cheng Shen;Ling Lee;Tsung-Hsun Yang;Yeh-Wei Yu;Ching-Cherng Sun

We developed a calibration process for the imaging luminance measuring devices. For objects outside depth of focus, its blurred edges applied for determining its distance. Then the luminance of the light sources within DOF can be refined. We also verified the effectiveness in practical measurements.

A novel optical design of bike headlamp for K-mark based on low-cost white LEDs with separate die bonding
Hsin-Jung Lin;Ching-Cherng Sun;Tsung-Hsun Yang

In this research, we have proposed and verified a novel optical design of low-cost white LEDs in a bike headlamp for K-mark regulation. This type of bike headlamp has the potential to reduce the cost and be environmentally friendly.

High Efficiency Laser Phosphor Lighting with Diffractive Optical Elements Design for Beam Shaping
Min-Chian Wu;Yao Lee;Hoang Yan Lin;Chih-Hsuan Tsuei;Chih-Sheng Jao;Kuo-Hsiang Chien

Hot spot issues are critical for the performance of laser phosphor lighting systems owing to the high energy concentration of laser beam focusing. We present a method to solve the hot spot issues and keep the system efficiency by laser beam shaping with diffractive optical element.
