White-Light Emission From GaN-Based TJ LEDs Coated With Red Phosphor

We report the fabrication of white LED lamps by coating red phosphor onto the green/blue dual-color tunnel-junction LED chips. It was found that TC observed from the dual-color TJ LED+red phosphor white LED lamps were smaller than those observed from the blue LED+yellow phosphor white LED lamps.

Design of Heat Sink by LED Positions to Improve Thermal Characteristics of High Power LED Bulbs

The thermal characteristics of LED bulbs are improved by a heat sink arranged aligning to the positions of LEDs. The maximum temperature of the LED surface is 80℃ and is lowered by 40℃ compared with that of the LED with a heat sink arranged misaligning to

Using KPFM to analyse localized Ga distribution induced by nitridation treatment during the growth of Al0.63Ga0.37N/Al0.51Ga0.49N multiple quantum wells

Using Kelvin probe force microscopy to study localized Ga distribution in AlGaN/AlGaN multiple quantum wells with different NH3 nitridation procedures, experimental results showed that the KPFM image and the corresponding potential standard deviation were regarded as an indicator of localized Ga distribution, which was positive correlation to the electroluminescence intensity.

Enhancement of p-GaN / n-ZnO LED luminescence by etching p-GaN and applying CdSe QD

In this report, we successfully used a homemade atmospheric plasma jet to prepare zinc oxide thin films on commercially available (0001) p-GaN substrates, verified that it can form QD/n-ZnO/p-GaN light-emitting diode, and discussed its light-emitting diode characteristics.

High Heat Dissipation Non-planar LED Lighting Module

In this study of LED lighting module, LED is directly soldered on a reflector made of a hemispherical alumina substrate to facilitate heat dissipation and provide specific light distribution. Two prototypes are investigated: LEDs are both attached inside the inner surface of a semi-spherical reflector.

Effect of color temperature and illuminance of desk lamp on reading clarity and safety

Our results show reading safety to increase with the decrease of the desk lamp brightness.
Color temperature shows no effect on reading clarity within 1800 to 6000 K, but reading safety is

Light management is potentially a non-pharmacological method to improve the sleep cycle and quality of life of persons living with dementia. We propose lighting based on LED strips in which intensity and spectrum are dynamically controlled and that is suitable for deployment in a long term facility or family dwelling.

Combining Infrared Night Vision and White Light Illumination with LARP for Automotive Headlight

A new design of laser system for automotive headlight, providing road illumination and infrared function for night vision. Laser beam was guide to the reflective phosphor and converted to high intensity light. Under ECE standard, the efficiency was reached up to 60% and 550 meters distance better than traditional headlight

Tilt Angle Optimization of Pole with LED Bulb-Type Fishing-Lamp by Illumination Distribution at Sea Level

The illuminance area at sea level above 900 lx under different tilt angles of the pole with LED fishing lamps is calculated using Dialux, and the maximum illuminance area is 3597 m2 at title angle of 30 degrees. Further the illuminance at different sea depths is also calculated.

Effect of Light Extraction on the Junction Temperature and Reliability for Blue LEDs

This paper investigated the effect of light extraction on the junction temperature and reliability for InGaN light emitting diodes. Difference of light extraction was caused by varied transparency of transparent contacts. Results showed that 16% larger in light extraction caused 7 oC lower in junction temperature and better reliability.

Study of Integrated Led Luminaire with Optics Film for High Efficient Light Output

The new design of Anti-Glared LED luminaire that using the WFB and the optical films to enhance the reflectivity of light output can meet the requirement of UL 8750 safety standard. The experimental result showed that higher of light intensity was found comparing with the commercial design.

The Laser-Based White Lighting using Phosphor Rods

To realize the laser-based white light technology, it consisted of a blue laser diode and a phosphor rod is proposed. The phosphor rods is used to direct the blue laser light to phosphor particles and reduce the high density laser irradiation on phosphor layer, and they could be easily applied.

Design of Anti-Glared LED luminaire with White Flame Barrier

The new design of integrated LED luminaire allowed the LED product to meet enclosure requirements specified in UL 8750 safety standard for LED equipment without using a glass plate, a flame-retardant plastic lens or a based material. The white flame barrier’s high reflectivity helped improve light output.

The Design of LED Headlamp using Cylindrical Lenses

In this study, the cylinder lenses with different radius are used to design of the LED headlamp and to meet the regulation requirement of ECE R112. It is found that the multiple LED devices using cylinder lenses could provide a clear cut-off line on the light pattern.
